If you’ve been trying to lose that unwanted body fat and haven’t been getting the results you’ve been looking for, here’s a few tricks to help you along.
The first trick is the type of foods you eat and the time you eat them. Make an honest effort to introduce high protein foods into your nutrition plan. That means eating foods like eggs (1 yolk for every 3 eggs) lean chicken, beef, fish, etc. Other great protein foods are low fat cottage cheese, protein bars and shakes.
The most important meal of the day to incorporate protein into is breakfast. By starting your day off with protein, you’ll be able to turbo charge your metabolism. Breads, cereals, and juices may taste great, but they slow your metabolism down to a snails pace.
Egg white omelets, breakfast tortillas, (eggs, ground beef, tomatoes, cottage cheese, all inside a tortilla) are just a couple of ways to start the day. If you don’t have the time to cook, mix yourself a protein shake. If you really want to see your fat melt away, you’ve got to get a handle on breakfast.
Instead of eating so much bread and pasta, try eating more fresh vegetables. The high fibre content will hold your appetite off for a longer period of time and slow the entry of sugar into your blood. Bottom line is this will help to reduce body fat.
Another neat trick is to drink at least 1 - 2 cups of water 30 minutes or so before your meal. The water will increase the speed at which you reach a feeling of fullness. By feeling fuller sooner, you’ll naturally eat smaller amounts at each meal.
Eating after 7:00 pm is not a great thing. The closer to bedtime you eat, the faster you’ll accumulate body fat. If you really need something to eat and you just can’t take it anymore, mix yourself a protein shake as the snack of last resort. It’s not easy and it will take a bit of will power to avoid those late night snacks, but you can do it. Vege’s with a low fat dip can also squeeze by as your late night snack if you gotta have something with a wee bit more substance.
Smaller, more frequent meals are a super effective way to keep your metabolism humming all day long. five to six meals a day is the best way to do it. A typical day would look something like this. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, protein shake. There you go, 6 meals. Another added benefit of smaller more frequent meals is higher energy levels. Large meals have a way of zapping your energy levels. Most people experience this after a large lunch. Come 2:00 pm they can barely keep their eyes open. Bad for your energy levels, and bad for your body fat.
Thermogenics are a secret weapon in your battle against the bulge. Thermogenics are compounds that stimulate your metabolism without the addition of exercise. These products will actually work even if you do absolutely no exercise at all. However, they work about 100 times better when used in conjunction with exercise.
Thermogenics are probably one of the most misunderstood body fat reduction products around. The media has a way of skewing the facts to create a great story. Recently, some totally misinformed media sources thought they would write articles about how thermogenics can cause heart attacks and are extremely dangerous.
The sad part is this could not be further from the truth. Thermogenics stimulate the central nervous system, this is one of the ways they help to reduce body fat levels. As a result of the stimulation, heart rate does speed up. This increase in heart rate caused some brilliant individuals to deduce that using these products would cause heart attacks.
Here’s a news flash for you. Walking up a set of stairs increases heart rate and blood pressure many times that of a thermogenic. When used as directed, thermogenics are incredibly safe, always have been, and always will be. For those who are more sensitive to these types of thermogenics, we have others that don’t stimulate. If you suffer from any thyroid conditions, or nervous conditions, I wouldn’t recommend you use any products that have stimulant properties. Stop by the nutrition centre for more info.
